Three living letters from the Element of Wood
The Way of Letters is a radical act of slow media, now approaching its first birthday.
Over the past year, real letters have travelled from my sunny South Coast writing lounge to mailboxes all across the country. Yet I’m not sure I have ever fully conveyed the peculiar pleasure I find in writing them, or the joy of those receiving a hand-addressed missive among the junk mail and the bills. There is intimacy here, anticipation and the sweet nostalgia of something made slowly and deliberately for another human being.
And so, for those suffering from subscription fatigue, I'm trialling The Way of Letters as a limited seasonal offering. A spring of handcrafted, AI-free correspondence, and a shared faith that the stories we tell will help us better know our way.
The spring series includes:
Three real letters, written on paper and sent in an envelope with your name and a stamp
One letter arriving in September, October and November. From the Spring Equinox through to Beltaine.
Each entrusted to Rob at my local Post Office, who ensures it finds its way to you.
Postage anywhere within Australia
One complete season for $39, with no ongoing commitment required.
Each letter begins in the gritty soil of life and follows the spring sap of things rising through these strange and beautiful times. They are written for literary lovers, nature lovers, and those walking an evolutionary path, one we hope might lead us out of this dystopian desert and into a gentler field.
This is us, being the change.
This spring missive has no algorithm, no advertising, no purchase funnel (ffs), and no endless parade of discounts or requests for reviews.
Just a letter from me to you, completely free of strings and expectations. A companion, a mirror, a map.
$39 for the complete spring season inc postage.
The circle closes on 31 August
