Seasonal Yoga & Breathwork

Rooted in Traditional Yoga and Japanese Yoga, these seasonal classes work with the Five Elements to explore how the body moves, adapts and changes with the rhythms of the natural world.

The Practice of Change

Nothing exists in isolation; we are all at the same time moving through expansion and contraction, creation and dissolution, activity and rest, and the cycles of the moons, tides, and seasons.

These classes lean into traditional yoga, Japanese yoga and the Chinese Five Elements to explore the changing relationship of all things through asana, pranayama, and periods of quiet attention.

An Autumn Yoga & Pranayama Practice · The Metal Element

Autumn asks us to simplify and to shed what is extraneous, and to remind ourselves what of us is pure, essential and worth its weight in gold. This slow seasonal practice works deeply through the Metal Element via the hips and lungs before moving into an extended Ujjayi pranayama series, exploring the clarity, refinement and quiet strength of the mettle of the season.

  • Truck me, I 💛 my Tuesday evening slow seasonal yoga with Yolande. Not your typical session, this is a pretty special offering. I liken it to playskool for adults as we use all the props, being guided into a seemingly never ending variety of poses, shapes, stretches and positions you wouldn’t think possible. All while being taken on a journey into ourselves to reconnect with our soul, learning how our mind, body and spirit absorb and react to the natural world around us. Fun, wise, witty and a little bit magical, thanks Yolande 💫

  • Last week, I did the Winter Intensive live with Yolande and it had a profound effect on me during, and after the 5 day Intensive practice. I felt it gave me a renewed energy and a sense of grounding. The breath work through guided pranayama daily practice made me appreciate the importance of maintaining the strength in my lung chambers. I highly recommend any class with Yolande, particularly if you are in need of resetting your mind and body connection.

  • I absolutely love Yolandes intensives. There is a little bit of everything; pranayama, meditation and movement. She is such a knowledgeable and experienced practitioner. The language she uses through the practice connects you to your mind, body and external environment on a whole new level. Can’t wait for Spring.

  • Our Yin yoga class with Yolande was a joy. Not a typical Yin class but then I think she was connecting in with the vibe of the class. My wife had a few broken toes and she helped guide her poses without making a big deal of it. It was both fun and nourishing. Definitely will be back again and again.

  • It always wonderful to share space with Yolande. Having the full body to open up to Spirit guidance with a humility we rarely see . Her gifts and understanding are deep & multilayered and we are blessed to have one of such guidance & talent.

  • I love the way my life flows when I spend just 2 mornings a week with a class focused on rediscovering breath - the mind remembers it's a back up singer and I feel grounded by the experience. Yolande brings an ancient gift to the craziness of 2022 life. Thank you

  • We were visiting Huskisson for a week and decided to drop into a few classes here, and I’m so glad we did. Yolande taught 2 classes - one Seasonal, one Yin, both structured to help with grounding as the season moves from summer to autumn. I have told myself that my hips are tight - but during the first class Yolande worked through various postures to open our hips - such a revelation and a different way of working. It was a treat to take the time to move slowly, as each posture was described intricately, with ways to move into postures that made them make sense - from the inside out. All knowledge you can take with you to your practice.
