The Way of Letters

A salon of words on actual paper posted to an actual person; YOU

This is for those longing for the living world, creatives, nature lovers, grief-tenders, mystics, and wordsmiths alike. All those hungry for the real questions, confessions and wonderments, along with unguarded reflections, tall tales and unsalted truths.

This is Not Another Newsletter

It’s an epistolary sanctuary.

“Yolande writes with brutal honesty about love, loss, creativity, and faith.”

01 · WORTH THE READ

I wanted to do something with no PR gloss, no algorithm, and no corporate veneer. I wanted to show up as just one human wrestling with the Great Mystery, and I wanted to invite you along for the trip.

This is a heart-invitation to you from me, with a series of handwritten reflections direct from my desk as our currency. A place in which we might shed the pace of progress, and instead mulch ourselves a little into the forest floor.

Put simply, this is a thoughtful communion, constructed around the seasons and the flux and flow of migratory birds, falling leaves, winter oceans, harvest days, and summer’s bright flame.

A deeply personal missive from the cosmic soup of things, in which all you have to do is receive.

These are the long, slow, deep notes of the pilgrimage.

“ I savour your letters with tea and a seat in the shade. They are the non-consumable consumables I never knew I needed. Thankyou Yolande”

02 · PEN. PAPER. ENVELOPE. STAMP

Once every four to five weeks, depending on the emotional weather, I sit in my garden and I write on cream watermarked paper.

I muse over nature, culture, cosmology and the questions that accompany us through these strange and beautiful times, with philosophy, personal reflection and (I hope) lyrical grace.

Ian prints out the copies that I then hand-address and give to Rob at the Post Office in town.
